How MetaTrader 4 was developed

Developed by MetaQuotes, a financial trading software development company, MetaTrader 4 was released in 2005 and licensed to brokers and those offering investment or brokerage services. How to open an MT4 account with BFX PRO

Before you can start trading, first open a Standard or Professional MT4 account with BFX PRO. Upon successful account registration, you will be able to find your MT4 account details listed in your Personal Area.

How to login to MT4 account

For Windows, macOS, and Linux:
  • Run the trading terminal on your PC
  • On the terminal, click on ‘File’ and then select ‘Login to Trade Account’
  • Next, enter your account number as your Login, your account trading password and the server your account was registered on
  • Once you have successfully logged in, you will hear a chime confirming your login

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about using MetaTrader 4.

For the MetaTrader 4 Windows desktop terminal, you will need to login to your trading account. To login:

  • Click on ‘File’ and then ‘Login to Trade Account’

  • Enter the Login, Password and Server (the MT4 login and server details can be found at your MT4 trading account in the Personal Area while your password is the same as the one you set for your trading account)

  • Once you have successfully logged in, you will hear a chime confirming your login and you can start opening trades.

Once you have created or login to your MT4 trading account, you can place a new order for CFD. For the MetaTrader 4 desktop terminal:

  • Open a new order by either clicking on ‘New Order’ in the toolbar or double-clicking on your desired forex currency pair in the ‘Market Watch’ window

  • After selecting the symbol, set your volume, stop loss and take profit

  • Then select either ‘Market Execution’ or ‘Pending Order’

  • Next, click on ‘Sell by Market’ or ‘Buy by Market’ to open the trade.

You can close the order by double-clicking your order and clicking the ‘Close by Market’ button or by right-clicking your order and choosing ‘Close Order’.
